I chose to become a family nurse practitioner because working as a nurse for several years, I wanted to learn more about medical conditions, what causes people to get them, and what can be done to prevent or reduce the complications once they have them. I felt that it was worthwhile to go through schooling in order to be able to help people at a higher level. My approach to care is to understand patients health goals, expectations, and to establish an informed care plan. My areas of clinical interest include high blood pressure/hypertension, diabetes management, hyperlipidemia, and chronic respiratory and cardiac conditions. Outside of work, I enjoy food, traveling, and physical activities such as running, hiking and working out at a gym. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.
