About Sansoucy Funeral Home

Sansoucy Funeral Home was founded in 1900 by F.A. Sansoucy II. Until this day, we continue to be independently owned and operated by a member of the Sansoucy family. Over the years, our family business has been passed down from F.A. Sansoucy II, to his two sons, Francois C. and Armand J. Sansoucy. Both sons were licensed funeral directors. Frank worked with his father for many years, taking over the business upon his father's death in 1948, while Armand left to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Following the war, Armand went to work for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for 30 years, while continuing to work part-time at his family's funeral home. In 1968, Francois C. Sansoucy's son, F. A. "Frank" Sansoucy III, became a licensed funeral director, and began working with his father. He assumed ownership of the family's business in 1978 upon the death of his father. Upon Frank's death in 1986, his wife, Elaine J. Sansoucy, made the decision to attend New England Institute in Boston. She graduated and became licensed in 1987, and continues to own and operate Sansoucy Funeral Home. Also upon Frank's death in 1986, Armand, retired from MDA to work with Elaine at the funeral home.In 1990, Elaine's daughter, Bonnie J. Materas, joined her mother in business. She graduated from NEI at Mount Ida College in Newton, MA in 1992, becoming licensed in 1993. Armand retired from the business when Bonnie became licensed. It is our honor to continue service within our community since the 110 years we became established.Pre-Planning.The reasons why people plan ahead are clear.
