About Alka Sawhney, MD
Alka Sawhney, M.D., is a board-certified medical oncologist at the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. She then completed a residency in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in hematology-oncology at University of Illinois in Chicago. As a Lynn Cancer Institute medical oncologist and hematologist, Dr. Sawhney diagnoses and treats patients with a wide range of cancers including leukemia, lymphoma and noncancerous blood disorders. While a cancer diagnosis can feel overwhelming, Dr. Sawhney is committed to providing expert care while helping patients maintain the best quality of life during and after treatment. Dr. Sawhney believes a team approach is vital to providing effective cancer treatment. Each care team member plays a vital role in ensuring their patients feel like they are surrounded by an extended family. When she is not caring for patients, she likes to cook, practice yoga and go for long walks with her dog.
