Nic is an AANC board certified and New York State licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. After spending nearly a decade working in sex education, motivated by helping others to better understand their own bodies and feeling empowered to make choices regarding their health, she decided to take the leap to pursue a career in health care. She earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nursing from Columbia University, where she studied primary care and sub-specialized in Women’s Health.
While studying, she worked as a Registered Nurse in a clinic serving unhoused LGBTQ+ youth in NYC. After graduating, she completed a primary care residency program and practiced at a FQHC in Connecticut providing care to underserved patients with complex medical needs, including gender-affirming care and opioid use disorder.
Women’s Health, though, has always been her passion. As a student, she served as a board member of the Columbia chapter of Nursing Students for Reproductive Health. Nic has also held volunteer positions as a birth doula and ER Advocate for survivors of sexual assault.
She returned to NYC in 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, to work at a gynecology practice providing preventative as well as walk-in services. Her skills and approach to care were further developed by the fast-paced, patient-centered practice aimed at ensuring patients had access to services when they were needed.
Nic is thrilled to have returned to Columbia as a provider on the General OBGYN team and looks forward to continued growth and development in her role.
