About Dr. Puckett
At 8 years old, Jessica Puckett, DO, decided to be a veterinarian because she loved science and animals. Her interest later shifted to working with people. “When I was in high school, I shadowed physicians and the shadowing helped me see that this is what I wanted to do for life,” she says.
In her specialty, she helps women manage their reproductive health at all ages. “As an OB/GYN, I have the best of both worlds,” she says of her love of delivering babies and also helping women with other health needs.
Dr. Puckett earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI, and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, PA. She completed both her Internship and Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Garden City Hospital, Garden City, MI.
In her experience, she says patients have taught her to stop, listen and think. “Not everybody is a textbook case. Sometimes there is a lot of problem solving the goes into a visit, and sometimes it is not an easy fix, it takes time, and a plan,” she says.
Dr. Puckett hopes patients see her as open minded to different treatment options and know that she tries her best to explain and answer questions.
