I believe communication is the most important skill in medicine. It is the foundation of any good therapeutic relationship. That is why as a physician, I carefully listen to patient concerns so that together, we can improve their health. During visits, I make a point to establish clear health plans. That includes either making a diagnosis, alleviating symptoms or both. My patients' time is valuable. With every visit, I ensure that time is well spent. Feeling unwell can be frightening for patients and their loved ones. By listening, paying attention to the details and providing clear explanations, I aim to allay their fears while helping them define and work toward their goals. When my patients are at ease and our relationship is built on trust and mutual respect, I feel both satisfied and fulfilled.
