Michele Meinhart, FNP, is a highly skilled family nurse practitioner and master esthetician with over 22 years of experience in nursing, who leads a team of carefully selected esthetic and dermatology specialists at her clinic, Starkey Medical Esthetics, in Salem, Virginia.
Michele graduated from the University of Virginia in 1984 with a BA in psychology, and after taking time off to raise her family, she returned to higher education to undertake a master’s degree in nursing. She graduated from Rutgers University, New Jersey, in 1997 and spent the next few years practicing as a nurse practitioner. Michele opened the first Starkey Medical office in 2003, since then, her business has expanded, and there are now branches of Starkey Medical Esthetics in Salem and Blacksburg, Virginia.
Michele’s sub-specialty is dermatology and feels passionate about helping her patients with all their skin problems, both medical and cosmetic, understanding the effect it can have on people when their appearance is affected by illness or skin imperfections. Michele works closely with Dr. Brian Buchanan at the Salem branch of Starkey Medical Esthetics, as well as collaborating with the finest dermatopathologists, dermatologists, and plastic surgeons to deliver high-quality primary dermatology services.
Not content to rest on her considerable achievements, Michele set up a training facility for estheticians, the Starkey Medical School of Esthetics, where she plays a major role as instructor and driving force. She also created her own skin care range, Vitagen®, which is a nourishing, scientifically based formula that rejuvenates aging or damaged skin.
In addition to all her professional commitments, Michele is a key figure in local organizations in Salem and has a passion for raising chickens in her spare time. Michele is an extraordinary person and inspiring practitioner, who always strives for excellence in everything she does.
