Dr. Itzel Armendariz has cared for the women of Fort Worth since 2020. Most recently,
she served the health needs of underserved women at John Peter Smith Hospital
including the incarcerated population. Her residency training involved taking care of
high risk patients. She has additional experience in obstetrical triage, using minimally
invasive robotic-assisted and laparoscopic surgical techniques for gynecological and
emergent OB/GYN care. Beyond her passion for performing advanced OB/GYN
surgeries, she is committed to delivering comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological
care, diagnostic care and contraception management to a diverse multi-generational
female population from adolescents to menopause.
Dr. Armendariz earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch
at Galveston. During her education, she spent time abroad in Peru and Uganda doing
research and expanding OBGYN care in other cultures. She completed her OB/GYN
residency through the John Peter Smith Health Network in Fort Worth. Dr. Armendariz is
a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Texas
Medical Association. She speaks fluent Spanish and loves traveling, reading, running,
and working out.
