Dr. Bernstein is a Fairfield County native and returned to Stamford in 2010 after training at Duke University (Undergraduate and Medical School) and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City (residency and fellowship).
Dr. Bernstein has a particular interest and board-certification in interventional pulmonology, a subspecialty within pulmonary medicine focused on bronchoscopy, lung cancer, pleural diseases and other procedures for the lung. He is the Co-Clinical Director for the Lung Cancer Screening and Lung Nodule Program at Stamford Hospital. Additionally, he has a strong clinical interest in critical care medicine.
Dr. Bernstein is the Director for Pulmonary and Critical Care at Stamford Hospital. He has additional clinical interests in COPD and sleep apnea, as well as asthma and dyspnea in adolescents.
In 2015, he won the Melville Magida Award from the Fairfield County MedicalSociety given to the top doctor under the age of 40. He has been listed in Top Docs Fairfield County and Top Docs Connecticut continuously since 2014. Dr. Bernstein is an active teacher in the Internal Medicine Residency at the Stamford Hospital and an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in Stamford for Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
