Some landmarks around our Beale Street location are:
Montgomery Street BART
the SF MOMA
the Palace Hotel
Gap Inc. Corporate HQ
The Embardero and the Google office near the water. Pier 22 is also within walking distance. The Ferry Building is
also just about 6 blocks away. The neighborhoods in this area are SOMA, South Beach, the Financial
District and Union Square to the west.
The Exploratorium is about 12 blocks north, and AT & T Park is about the same distance south.
Our San Francisco storage facility is within the Rincon Hill neighborhood, which was residential until the 1906 earthquake and then it was converted into industrial spaces. In 1985, it shifted back to residential and mixed-use and has remained that way. The reason for the change was to provide housing to people who worked in the nearby Financial District.
To be more specific, Rincon Hill is a sub-neighborhood of the South of Market neighborhood, which is a large one.
One might say SOMA is very mixed-used considering the warehouses, nightclubs, condos, apartments auto repair shops and of course, storage.
Quite a number of large companies also have offices in SOMA such as LinkedIn, Uber, Yelp, DropBox, Salesforce, Trulia, Pinterest and many others.
Given all the activity and population in this area, traffic can be challenging.
San Francisco is very densely developed and occupied, so if you are looking for storage units most likely you want them close by, so you can access them conveniently. Our San Francisco storage units are close to quite a few neighborhoods, so they may be a good choice if you living or doing business in those areas.
Everyone knows how costly housing is in San Francisco -- living space is at a premium. For this reason, storage can be very helpful. Many people in San Francisco simply don't have enough interior storage space in their apartments, condos, or homes. So, they need storage units near them.
Our Beale Street location works well for some of the areas noted above, but we also have storage at Turk Street, Brannan and near the ballpark at City Storage of San Francisco.
